La Pared, Fuerteventura: The Ultimate Guide & Things To Do

If you’re visiting Fuerteventura, you MUST visit the little village of La Pared on the south-west coast of the island.
Although it isn’t a Corralejo or Morro Jable filled with restaurants, shops & tourist traps – it is one the best places to surf on the island & catch a sunset.
It’s peaceful, unspoilt & admittedly has a bit of a dishevelled, rugged appearance – but we still love it all the same!
In this post we’ll share with you what you can do in La Pared, our favourite sunset spots & how to get there!
How To Get To La Pared
The small town of La Pared is located on Fuerteventura’s west coast.
It’s easily accessible by the well maintained FV-605 road.
From Corralejo: it’s 1hr 30mins drive.
From Caleta de Fuste: it’s a 50mins drive.
From Costa Calma: it’s a 12min drive.
From Morro Jable: it’s a 30min drive.
We normally drive to La Pared in our rental car which we pre-book from the comparison website Discover Cars before we go.
It’s most definitely the best way to get around Fuerteventura!
Tip: TOP CAR is usually our car rental company of choice!
Things To Do In La Pared
1) Book A Surf Lesson

La Pared is a surfer’s paradise, so if you want to learn how to surf, this is one of the best places on the island to do so!
Here are the top-rated surf schools & lessons in La Pared:
2) Watch The Sunset

La Pared is also one of THE BEST places in Fuerteventura to watch the sunset!
Our personal favourite spots to catch the sun going down are:
- Clifftops at Playa del Viejo Reyes
- Mirador de La Pared
- Punta Guadalupe.

3) La Pared Beaches

The beaches in La Pared are the perfect place to chill out & enjoy watching the surfer’s catching waves. You’ll find one long stretch of sand which is split into two beaches by the rocks.
Playa de La Pared is one part of this gorgeous, unspoilt sandy beach & can be accessed from a staircase right next to this car park.
On the other side, even more secluded, you have Playa Viejo del Rey. Park HERE & head over the clifftop path down to the beach.
Note: It’s not recommended to swim out in the ocean here as it can get a bit wild, but you can always dip your toes in!
There’s also a smaller, more rocky beach beside Punta Guadalupe too, which is a popular spot to watch the sunset.

4) Punta Guadalupe Viewpoint
This is another must-visit viewpoint in La Pared. It’s a fairly easy climb to the top of the cliffs, not too steep.
It’s a magical place to sit & listen to the waves crashing against the rocks & just take in the unreal views out over the ocean & coastline. It can get a bit windy here though – so be prepared & bring a jacket for the evening.
If you head carefully over the cliffs to the right you’ll find more cool views up towards the north.

5) Eat at Cafe Caveto
The absolute BEST place to eat (or get your caffeine fix!) in La Pared has got to be Café Caveto. It’s a friendly place serving coffee, brunch & sweet treats with the most laid-back surf-ey vibe.
You can actually rent a surfboard from here too! 🏄🏼♀️
