One Day Trip To Lindos – Things To Do

1) Relax At St.Paul’s Bay

How To Spend One Day In Lindos - St.Pauls Bay - a beautiful blue bay with cliffs & rock formations surrounding it. A white chapel sits to the right with a path leading up to it. Boats float in the middle of the water.

We’re telling you now, you need to put St.Paul’s Bay at the top of your Lindos bucket list! We promise you’ll be thanking us later!

This dreamy bay is a must-see & is located right on the edge of Lindos village itself, within walking distance. If you are visiting by car, there is plenty of parking close by!

You could honestly spend a good part of your day here – take a look at Chapel Agios Pavel located to the right of the bay, do some snorkelling in the water, have a Frappe at St. Paul’s beach bar or rent one of the sunbeds & relax!

2) Explore Lindos Village

One of the best things to do in Lindos is simply to explore the charming streets & village itself. Narrow, cobblestone pathways will lead you through the maze of whitewashed buildings, past traditional village houses, Greek tavernas & small boutiques.

If you love Greek chapels as much as we do, be sure to find the Chapel of Saint George Pahimahiotis & Church of the Holy Virgin (Panagia).

Honestly, we found it so hard to put the camera away, round every turn there’s something you’ll want to take a photo of! We especially loved the flowers hanging down from the buildings, the stunning doorways into local homes, & of course the views of the Acropolis from various spots along the way!

Tip: If you can get to Lindos early, it’s the best time to explore with less people & before it starts getting too hot!

3) Visit The Acropolis

The Acropolis of Lindos is a must-visit on our bucket list for our next trip to Rhodes! We’ve intended to go in multiple times, but we just haven’t had the chance!

It’s one of Greece’s most significant archaeological sites, & offers an interesting insight into the ancient history of the village. From the Acropolis, on it’s perch on the clifftop, you’ll also experience some stunning views over Lindos & beyond.

To reach the entrance, it’s about a 20-30 minute walk uphill from the village. We recommend pacing yourself; the path is quite steep and includes numerous steps. Tickets are available at the entrance for around 12 euro, or you prefer to skip the queue, you can purchase tickets in advance.

Tip: It can get hot walking up to the Acropolis, whilst waiting in the queue & when you get inside. Be sure to bring a bottle of water & some snacks in case you have to wait. Don’t forget to put your sunscreen on too!

4) Eat At Melia Cafe (The Best Brunch Spot In Lindos!)

Smoked Salmon & Avocado Bowl at Melia Cafe in Lindos. Contains avocado, smoked salmon, purple cabbage, eggs, rustic bread & green leaves!

Melia Cafe is our favourite lunch/brunch destination in Lindos. It’s so good we had to give it it’s very own spot on this list! 😍

We came across it the first time we visited & couldn’t wait to go back! It offers a selection of tasty, fresh & healthy all day brunches, lunches, salads & baked goods!

We usually sit in the outside area downstairs as it’s a bit more shady – but there’s a gorgeous patio upstairs as well has some stunning views over to St. Pauls Bay & Lindos’ rooftops!

Tip: The Grilled Halloumi & Chill Jam toasted sandwich is to die for, & we are big fans of the Smoked Salmon Avocado Bowl too! We normally share half & half of each!

5) Chill-Out At Lindos Beach

Lindos Beach - a golden sandy beach with crystal clear waters overlooking a bay & out to the sea with small boats dotted all across the water.
Lindos Beach

If you’re a beach lover, Lindos Beach is the perfect place to relax & cool-off after exploring Lindos.

It’s a golden sandy beach, with crystal waters & stunning views out to the sea. There’s also a smaller beach to the right of it called Pallas Beach. You can chill-out on the sunbeds here, take a swim or even hire a kayak/paddle board if you’re feeling active!

There are a few bars & tavernas right beside the beach, so if you’re feeling thirsty or peckish you won’t have to go far!

Tip: If you want to hire a sunbed at Lindos Beach, expect to pay around 20 euros.

6) Shop For Souvenirs

Shopping in Lindos

Whilst you’re exploring the streets of Lindos, you’ll find lots of shops selling everything from handmade trinkets, jewellery, artwork & of course local souvenirs.

One thing we always seem to come home with is Greek pottery like bowls or kitchen items – there are so many beautiful designs & colours that we just can’t resist lol.

Do bear in mind that a lot of the generic souvenirs are mass-produced, so check out different shops to find the best price. Overall, we think it’s nice to take away a reminder of your trip to Lindos, but even if you don’t happen to buy anything it’s still fun to browse through all the different bits & bobs!

7) Stop For A Coffee (Or Cold Beverage!)

Exploring the never-ending cobbled streets of Lindos is a lot of fun, but can be thirsty work in the heat! Luckily there are plenty of great spots to take a break, grab a coffee or maybe even something stronger!

If you want a coffee with a view, try Rainbird Cafe! Although it’s not the most fancy place you’ll go to, it has a rustic Greek charm to it, not to mention gorgeous views over Lindos Beach!

As we mentioned above, one of our favourites is Melia Cafe. If we were spending a day in Lindos again, we’d be straight here! Not only do they serve amazing food, but they have a range of coffees, cold drinks & alcoholic beverages too!

If you’re visiting St.Paul’s Bay on your day-trip to Lindos, we recommend Dimitri’s Beach Bar located right next to the water. The perfect place for a cold beer or a Frappe with a stunning backdrop. You’ll honestly feel so relaxed sitting there by the sea!

8) Catch An Epic Lindos Sunrise

Lindos is an AMAZING place to watch the sunrise in the morning! If you are staying close by to the village & have a car, it’s definitely worth getting up early for!

We recommend heading to any of the beaches or basically any spot that you can see out to the ocean. When we visited in October, we actually went to St. Paul’s Bay & it was absolutely stunning! We had the whole place to ourselves the entire time which was so cool!

If you walk up to the Acropolis & follow the path round the back toward to the sea, you’ll get a really good view of the sunrise there too & looking to the south of the island.

How Do I Get To Lindos From Rhodes Town?

BY CAR: Depending on the traffic it may take around 45-50 minutes to drive to Lindos. We recommend hiring a car for a few days or for the duration of your stay if you plan to explore, rather than getting a taxi to & from Lindos which can be costly – around 60-70 euros each way! Plus you’ll have the freedom to spend as long as you want in Lindos!

BY BUS: The cheapest way to get to Lindos from Rhodes is by taking the bus, costing around 5.50 each way with Ktel Rodou. However do bear in mind this might be a slightly longer drive as the bus will have to stop to pick-up & drop-off.

Once everyone has been picked up they drive you directly to Lindos, where you’ll have 5 hours of free time to explore before you head back!
