H10 Ocean Dunas, Corralejo: Our Honest Review & Photos
In this post we’ll share our experience & review of H10 Ocean Dunas – a serene 4* adults-only hotel right in the heart of Corralejo, Fuerteventura.
In December 2023, we enjoyed a 3-night stay at this gorgeous hotel & honestly if you put us on a plane right now we’d go back in a heartbeat!
We chose this particular hotel for a couple of reasons, the main ones being that it is Adult’s Only, the location (in the centre of Corralejo) & because we’re big fans of the H10 brand!
Thankfully it did not disappoint & we had a lovely stay!
If you’re thinking of visiting Corralejo in 2024, & you are looking for a chilled, Adults-Only hotel to book – grab a cuppa & take a read at our H10 Ocean Dunas Review!
(Note: we stayed in a Superior Room, in December 2023, on a Bed & Breakfast board basis!)
H10 Ocean Dunas: Location
H10 Ocean Dunas is located on Calle La Red, right in the centre of Corralejo (a popular town in the North of Fuerteventura.)
At one end of the street (not even a minute’s walk), you’ll find the gorgeous sandy beach of
Playa de los Verilitos, popular for swimming, surfing & beachfront bars!
If you walk the other direction, you’ll be straight onto the main street, with plenty of shops, bars, cafes & restaurants.
It’s such a good location if you want to be in the heart of Corralejo – you can literally step outside & within seconds be perched up in a bar having a cocktail!
Checking-In To H10 Ocean Dunas
We arrived to the hotel just after 15:30 & we were into our room before 4pm which was brilliant as we were tired after a long flight from Belfast.
We checked in on the H10 Hotels App beforehand, which we guess saves the reception staff entering more of your details when you check-in at the desk in-person!
The reception staff were lovely & friendly, & as I recall we just had to show our passports, sign a few bits & then pay for our room. At every H10 we’ve been to, they usually offer us a complimentary drink on arrival which is a really nice touch!
We got two room keys enclosed in a small booklet with our room number, a few important details & of course the wi-fi username & password!
If you have to wait to check-in, there is a seating area right beside reception which looks onto the pool area & I’m sure if you wanted to leave your suitcase & head out into Corralejo for a bit while you wait for check-in that you could do that too!
Need To Know: Check-In is 15:00 & Check-Out is 12pm.
H10 Ocean Dunas: Hotel & Amenities
Honestly, H10 Ocean Dunas is like a quiet oasis right in the heart of bustling & busy Corralejo! As soon as you step into it, it’s almost like you aren’t even in the town!
It’s a small hotel with we’d say less than 100 rooms, some which overlook the pool, some the garden & others the main streets. Make sure to check which view you have when booking or put in a request!
Even though this isn’t a huge hotel, it does have some great amenities:
Outdoor Pool
As you enter the reception area you will see the swimming pool directly in front of you! It’s not the biggest pool by any means, but we would say the appropriate size for this small, quiet hotel.
However, there are plenty of sunbeds with umbrellas to relax on! Sadly it was a bit cooler when we went in December so we didn’t get to avail of this area – but definitely next time!
Gym
The gym is located at the back of the hotel, down in the basement area! Although we didn’t use it, it looked pretty well equipped & clean. There are bikes, cross trainers, treadmills & weight training equipment!
Bars & Restaurants
Overlooking the pool are you will find La Oliva Restaurant, where breakfast & dinner is served! In the same spot you will find the Velvet Bar & La Terrasse Bar!
Tropical Garden Area
Our favourite thing about this hotel was the garden area filled with palm trees & which has the cutest seating area. You can grab a drink from the bar & then come down here & chill!
Breakfast At H10 Ocean Dunas
We chose the Bed & Breakfast option when booking, as we were only staying a few days & planned to eat out in Corralejo.
Breakfast is served from 7.30am-10.30am in the main La Oliva Restaurant. (This is the one & only restaurant in the hotel, so you’d have dinner here too!)
The breakfast buffet here has pretty much everything you could want & it was all really tasty & good quality.
There was a range of breads, pastries (sweet & savoury), hot breakfast items, eggs, fruit, cereals, yoghurts – literally you are spoilt for choice.
Andrew always enjoyed his toast, eggs & bacon – I usually had a mix of deli meats, veggies, cheese & of course a pastry!
There’s a machine to pour your coffee as well plus plenty of juices & drink options.
We sat outside every morning on the covered terrace overlooking the pool, but you can also sit inside if you prefer!
ALSO HOW CUTE is the cactus covered wall?! 🌵
Bars & Drinks At H10 Ocean Dunas
There are two bars in the hotel – Velvet Bar & La Terrasse, both located where the restaurant is, beside the pool area. (on the H10 website as of April 2024, it says the Velvet Bar is temporarily closed – so do check this before you go!)
The drinks menu at H10 Ocean Dunas boasts many different wines, cocktails, spirits & beers – something for everyone! There are also non-alcoholic cocktails too, which is a great addition.
As we were out & about all day, we didn’t really get a chance to try any of the cocktails (my favourite is a Mojito when we stay at H10 Playa Esmeralda!), but we did enjoy a coffee on the terrace late one afternoon & it was very relaxing!
Need To Know: The coffees we got where just added to our room bill, & which we paid at reception at the end of our stay! However we have read that you can pay at the end of each day at reception if you wish. Just good to know before you go as we were unsure how it worked!
Our Superior Room At H10 Ocean Dunas
Like we mentioned before, H10 Ocean Dunas is a fairly small, boutique hotel. You can book a Double Room, Superior Room or a Junior Suite – whatever your preference or budget is!
We decided to book a Superior Room as it was a good price at the time, & we wanted to overlook the tropical garden area of the hotel!
We thought this would be quieter & more private than being near the pool or restaurant.
The room itself was spacious, clean & really bright! Definitely big enough for two people to move about in & have their own space.
As you enter the room you’ll find cupboards to your right with plenty of hangers for your holiday clothes!
The bathroom was gorgeous, with a huge walk-in shower, rain shower head & complimentary toiletries.
We had a Queen Size bed, with plenty of pillows – all super clean & fresh. In every H10 we’ve been to we find the beds to be really comfy & always have a good night’s sleep! There were two beside tables, with handy charging points & USB ports for your phone or tablet.
The balcony was lovely, with a two chairs & a table to enjoy your morning coffee! It was really peaceful just listening to the birds chirping in the palms trees which fill the garden area.
The room we got assigned was located near the back of the hotel, down a quiet corridor. We did expect that because we were in the middle of Corralejo, that it might be a little noisy in the evenings. However, the only noise we heard one night was music coming from the Irish bar in the street beside us – but honestly it wasn’t loud enough to bother us in fact Andrew didn’t even hear it! It actually put me to sleep lol! But generally the rooms felt super soundproof & once you closed the door it was like you were in your own bubble!

Who Is H10 Ocean Dunas NOT Suitable For?
Although we think this hotel is fab, we understand that it may not suit everyone’s tastes!
Here’s who we think the hotel is NOT suitable for:
- Families with young children – this hotel is Adult’s-Only, so you have be over 18 to stay here. However there is a family-friendly hotel nearby – called H10 Ocean Suites! We recommend checking it out as it looks utterly amazing too!
- People looking for a party atmosphere – as a couple in our mid-30s, we enjoy quieter hotels with more of a chilled-out vibe – & we like to generally keep to ourselves. H10 Ocean Dunas definitely seems to attract an older crowd & people looking for that peaceful atmosphere. So if you are looking for the 18-30s vibe, lots of young people, pool parties & DJS – this may not be the hotel for you!
