5 Best Things To Do In Stegna, Greece
1. Take In The Views At Stegna Viewpoint
Just as you come out of Archangelos & turn the corner to descend the road down to Stegna you’ll find this panoramic viewpoint, characterized by a small blue bench.
Take a seat here and you can soak in the views of the ocean, mountains, and Stegna Village itself.
There’s a small layby right by the bench where you can park. We even encountered some goats admiring the views during our visit! 🐐
2. Take A Break At Jack’s Cocktail & Beach Bar
Strolling down the main street of Stegna along the beachfront, we stumbled upon Jack’s Cocktail & Beach Bar. The decor and boho vibes of the place immediately caught our attention!
The day was super hot (about 30degrees in October!), so I fancied a Frappe to cool off, while Andrew opted for a Cappuccino!
The menu had some really great options for breakfast & brunch, so we’ll definitely visit again & have some food on our next trip to Rhodes! Also, the place stays open late for cocktails and music, which is perfect if you’re staying in the area! 🍹
3. Relax At Stegna Beach
If you just feel like chilling out & soaking up the sun, then head straight to Stegna Beach & hire a sunbed for the afternoon. The beach is 700m long, and boasts crystal clear waters & stunning views out across the Mediterranean Sea.
If you are feeling active & want to do something fun, why not try out the paddleboarding & snorkelling experience with Paddle Paradise!
4. Visit Stegna Harbour
Stegna is a fishing village, and if you drive or walk to the very end of the main road you’ll find the harbour.
It’s a small harbour with only a few boats, but it’s worth a look & you get some stunning views across to Stegna from this spot!
5. Explore Stegna Cliffs & Viewpoint
One of the last things on our list of the best things to do in Stegna, is to explore the rocky cliffs & the viewpoint at the very end of the village (past the harbour).
We only walked a short distance up the cliffs towards a small cave as we weren’t sure if we could go any further. You’ll get a lovely view towards Stegna Village & the mountains towering above!
We saw some folks climbing down from the higher on the cliffs, so we think you could climb further up, but we’d suggest wearing proper trail shoes & exercising extreme caution!
How To Get To Stegna, Rhodes
Stegna really is off-the-beaten-track & the best way to get there is by car. There doesn’t seem to be any public transport taking you directly to the village.
From Lindos it will take you around 30 minutes driving. Follow EO Rodou Lindou/EO95 & EO95 to Archangelos. Then follow signs for Stegna.
From Rhodes Town it will take you around 45 minutes driving. Follow the E095 road towards Archangelos, then follow the signs for Stegna.
There are plenty of parking spaces along the roadside & a few car parks. We parked up at Stegna Harbour just past the main hotel in the village & it was fairly empty!
