Everything You Need To Know About Tsambika Beach: One Of Rhodes Top Beaches

A woman in beach attire stands beside a wooden post with signs reading "Smile today," "Enjoy life," "Is too short," and "Don't worry, be happy" at Tsambika Beach Rhodes, with loungers and umbrellas lining the shore.

Tsambika Beach is situated on the east coast of Rhodes, & should definitely be on your bucket list for your trip! It is said to be one of the best beaches on the island. We visited it for the first time in October & we can see why it’s rated so highly! It is a huge stretch of golden sand with stunning views & crystal clear water. It really is a beach lover’s paradise!

We decided to share our visit to Tsambika Beach as we do think it’s worth visiting & to offer some useful tips in case you are thinking of going there on your next trip to Rhodes! 🙂

How To Get To Tsambika Beach

You’ll find Tsambika beach about an hour or so away from Rhodes Town, right in between the popular resort of Kolymbia & Archangelos.

It’s relatively easy to get there, you simply follow the EO95 road then turn off when you see the signs for Tsambika here. The road down to the beach is fairly smooth & well preserved – although you may come across a few potholes here & there! But we had no troubles driving on it.

Once you reach Tsambika Beach, you’ll find PLENTY of parking. Even in the busier months we can imagine you would still get a space here. We did our best to park in the shade to keep the car cool, but unfortunately that didn’t work as well as we thought – there’s no escaping that Greek heat!

We had hired a car for our trip to Rhodes, & we’d say that’s probably the best way to get to Tsambika Beach. We use this website to compare different companies & try to get the best deal for our dates. Just be sure to check the reviews & policies. Having a car when we go away gives us lots more freedom to explore & more flexibility time-wise!

However, if you don’t have a car you can get a direct bus from Rhodes which takes you right to Tsambika Beach. It’s just over a 1 hr journey. From Lindos there’s no direct bus, but you can get one to Archangelos, then take a taxi from there to the beach.

Things To Do At Tsambika Beach

We visited Tsambika Beach for the first time on our last visit to Rhodes in October. It took us about 30 mins to drive there from where we were staying in Pefkos (just past Lindos Village.) It’s about the same (or a slightly longer drive) if you are coming from Rhodes Town. We arrived around 10am so it was still pretty quiet & there were plenty of sunbeds available!

We had breakfast at Ramal Beach Bar with Andy’s parents, then whilst they grabbed their sunbeds for the afternoon (they’re the sun worshippers!) – we decided to drive to & hike up to Tsambika Monastery – a walk not for the faint of heart 😂!

You can see the monastery from Tsambika Beach on top of the cliff, & when you get up there, you’ll get some stunning views – well worth the climb & we recommend doing it!

Once we came back down, we took a wander along the beach to check out the Greek Flag which is painted on a huge rock (not very exciting but worth a look nonetheless 😂!)

There are some really cute ‘beachy’ signs all along the beach which if you’re anything like me you have to take a picture of every single one! There’s also a brightly coloured mini-market with inflatables outside where you can get ice-cream & cold drinks!

If you’re more adventurous & enjoy watersports, check out Jet-Ski Tsampika or Tsambikos Watersports! You can rent a boat from Dimitri’s Watersports too!

Once we finished our walk we headed back to the restaurant we went to for breakfast, had our lunch & chilled there for a bit before heading home to Pefkos!

Hiring Sunbeds At Tsambika Beach

If you simply want to relax all day – you can hire a sunbed at Tsambika for about €15-25 euro – depending on where you want to sit & how close to the water.

Andy’s parents hired their beds from the beach bar we were at, & I’d say they were slightly steeper in price as the beds were better quality & they had cushions on them. They had beachfront cabanas too if you feel like treating yourself!

If you want to save money we suggest checking out the price of the blue sunbeds down to the left of the beach. & of course you could find a spot anywhere with a bit of space & throw your towel down for free!

Tsambika Beach Bars & Restaurants

There are 3 beach bars down at Tsambika (as far as we know) – Tsampika Restaurant, Ramal Beach Bar & Restaurant and Amande Beach Bar. They all looked really nice & are surprisingly rated very well on Google!

We chose Ramal Beach Bar as it was just right in front of where we parked the car. We went for breakfast here & because it was SO GOOD that we went back for lunch later on!

It was quieter at breakfast time, then at lunch we noticed it to be a bit busier. However the service we experienced was great & the staff were friendly. I can’t quite remember what the name of the breakfast item we got (something with eggs & toast!) but it was gorgeous. At lunch I had the Halloumi Salad with cous cous which was so tasty & fresh! Andrew had a burger which he said was lovely! We didn’t expect much from a beach bar but we were pleasantly surprised!

If you don’t want to eat at one of the restaurants or just fancy something small – there’s a shop as you come in at the car-park where you can get snacks, fresh sandwiches etc! There’s a mini-market beside it too as we mentioned before, with fresh-fruit, ice-cream & cold drinks!
